We have this passion for forest cat a long time ago and we plan to have Maine coon and Norwegian Forest in our cattery. We start from Maine coon in the beginning and searching for NFO from abroad but since our knowledge on NFO are limited at that point of time, we put the plan on hold. A friend of ours which is the pioneer in NFO breeding do give us a lots of tips on how NFO characteristic and what se should look for. At last we decide to have a join breeding with her cattery and ours. We took 3 NFO from her, a male and two female. This female will be sent back to her for matting. We only decided to have a new stud once the breeding program going well.

There is a debate on how a NFO should looks like; a CFA or Fife standard and majority prefers to be Fife standard because according to them it shows the originality of NFO.Due to high humidity and temperature in Malaysia, we hardly or cant have the quality of coat mostly European NFO do have. Some will keep theirs in air-conditioned room like ours but they easily fall ill if kept in an air-cond room 24 hours a day without an air ventilation fan running. We only switch the air-cond on only on day time and turn if of night time. Slightly colder room temperature will help to prevent their coat from over shading but to produce a winter coat is almost impossible.

We kep NFO in small number due to space constrain and we concentrated more to our Maine coon.
