We try our best to make sure our cats have enaough space to roam around
and live comfortably. One cat house and a cat room has been set up which is one
situated outside.It is an extension from the side of our semi D house and a cat room inside
our home.Some of our breeding cats and pet cats (neutered) are place in the cat house outside
while show cats and some of the breeding female are place inside an air-condition room in the house.
We take great length to upgrade our cat house from time to time. Most of the upgrading work we do it with our two bare hands.
Even though we are not a contractor or skilled builder but we try our best to make our dream cat house a reality.
Since we work 6 days a week and only a day off, we have to build phase by phase and continue when there is any free time.
I first do a layout and take measurement and list down the material require. It sounds easy at first but once Im at the hard ware
store, all my measurement cant be use. I forgot about the bricks meansurement.What the heck so I show my plan to the hard ware
store owner and he do all the culculation.They sent all the material the same day.But before that I need to fix the ceiling and its not
an easy job if you doing it alone by your self .My housemate and I run a computer shop that open 7 days a week so having two of
us work on the cat house together is almost impossible.
Wood beam are cut and nailed as a frame before the ceiling can took place. It takes two weeks for me to get it done and now its
time to lay down the bricks.Since I cant use the measurement previously, I just arrange the bricks on the floor follow the cattery
floor plan.I join all the bricks with cement and its not straight enaugh or what should I say in Malay " Macam ular kena palu".I drag
Jeff and his friend to help me out on putting tiles on the bricks.They work really hard to get it done.Thanks a million !
Then whe it comes to fences or what should I say metal fences as a partition; this job I pass to a contractor since I dont have the
necessary tools.They done it is few days and get it fixed within a week ( they are skilled worker ). My cathouse project is 95% done
just a day before my Hari Raya Open House gathering party. There is few more jobs that need to be done but I will do it later after
the cat show at Matrade Kuala Lumpur.
